FAQs

Q-1 Why to select AEA for study?

AEA provides a dynamic learning environment with a focus on experiential learning and academic excellence. Interactive teaching with audio-visual facilitated classrooms and advanced embryology laboratories. Top-notch infrastructure with experienced and expert faculties in the heart of Pune city. Career counseling and placement assistance to facilitate employment opportunities for students.

Q-2 Is Embryology a good career option?

Each day for an embryologist has a new challenge. The technology is ever-evolving and the process continues to improve. Embryologists don’t seem to mind the early hours or the long hours because it is exciting to come into work to see how fertilization went or to see who got pregnant that day. Knowing that you play an instrumental role in the success of a pregnancy and future child is an amazing feeling.

Q-3 Do we get real hands-on training during our course?

Ideally, embryologists get trained on animal gametes but today laboratories are very busy and lack the time necessary to train in a timely manner. Those that are able to go straight into the lab have a very difficult and lengthy time getting trained as the staff are too busy to allocate the time. At AEA, we focus more on intensive hands-on training for students and working professionals.

Q-4 What if any student takes longer to learn the practical skill?

We understand that some students grasp things quicker than others. This is not a problem as we provide ample access to the laboratory for students to take as much time as needed to practice and learn the skills. We will provide as much one-on-one assistance as needed until the student is competent. Students can have independent time in the lab as they desire.

Q-5 How many students are for each course?

For post-graduation 25 students whereas for PhD and Skill enhancement courses five candidates per batch.

Q-6 Will students get access to handle all IVF lab instruments?

Our goal is to train each embryologist on all types of equipment used in an IVF lab, so they are prepared to enter any laboratory fully functional. We have all types of microscopes, incubators, manipulators, vitrification systems, dishware, and disposables. Students/professionals will become proficient using all of them.

Q-7 Where do the students stay?

Pune offers a variety of affordable places to stay as a student. AEA students may consider hostels or PG accommodation in the city. Those who need assistance can get help from our travel desk.

Q-8 How can overseas professionals proceed with skill enhancement courses at AEA?

International trainees are welcome to train at AEA. We can offer a letter of invitation to the program. International students, once trained at AEA, will need to find employment in their home country.

Q-9 What is the fees schedule?

We understand that money may be a stress and are committed to helping you become an embryologist. Post-graduation and PhD students can pay fees in two installments whereas short-term course fees should be paid in advance.

Q-10 What makes a good ART professional/embryologist?

An embryologist needs to have both technical skills and a depth of knowledge for the science, as well as a passion for the field of infertility. A good embryologist will have an understanding of the significant impact they have on helping to create families. While attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination are crucial, compassion and dedication are essential qualities for an embryologist.
